The Ten Commandments of Millville BJJ
1. Leave your ego at the door. You are here to learn in a respectful, intimidation free, ego free atmosphere. Not everyone wants to be a world champion cage fighter. Whether you are here to compete or to have fun and stay in shape, EVERYONE’S goals are equally important to me. A bad, disrespectful or intimidating attitude will never be tolerated.
2. Treat every student with extreme respect, and each student is taught based on their individual needs. Every student differs, so I observe each student closely and work on their strengths and weaknesses.
3. One of the most important aspects of training is to not get hurt, I keep my eyes like an eagle looking at everyone, every second during class. An uncontrolled aggressive mentality is not accepted.
4. There is no secret or magic in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. To succeed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and in competition you MUST master the basics. To master the basics they must become instinct. For that to happen you must drill, drill, drill and then drill some more.
5. To become a great Mixed Martial Artist you must first master Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. And to master Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu you must first learn it with a Gi.
6. Anyone can become a Black Belt, but it takes determination, hard training, a good attitude, and CONSISTENCY.
7. There is no invincible fighter because one day will be your day to lose, and that is really when we know if you are a true champion or not. A true champion will come back and work hard to defeat who defeated them. Quitters never win, winners never quit.
8. The Real academy philosophy... train hard, train with respect and you will receive respect back and gain success.
9. No profanity at any time is acceptable.
10. If you ever have a problem with something another student has done I expect you to bring it to my attention. If there are any problems, I promise to solve it immediately.
